Cheesy opening line – I know. I have not been posting because I have been tired and struggling – a lot. The world was feeling like a pretty sad place – a lot! I never want to be a downer blogger – so I just disappeared.
This week my doctor tested my thyroid and found that I have hypothyroidism. This makes total sense – I am always tired, almost always blue, and very overweight. No doctor had ever thought to test for it before.
So the good news is (while nothing has really changed since 3 days ago) I have a renewed sense of hope that this little, itty bitty pill will perk me up a bit and help me with my weightloss journey.
My weight loss is going pretty well. I am committed and have a totally different long view perspective this time. I will never be done with this struggle. I have been on program for almost 3 months and have lost 14.6 pounds. That is with working it with every fiber of my being. God helps me deal with temptation and has helped me deal when I have worked my hardest and gone to weigh in to see a .6 pound loss or a zero pound loss.
My school year is off to a super start and I am enjoying my job in ways I didn’t last year. God’s grace has opened up much greater working conditions – a great new office, friendly new colleagues (my old colleagues were perfectly fine and friendly), and a lot of little details being worked out.
R is loving high school. She is growing in God and makes me proud all the time.
Dave is enjoying his new job. Okay, he is ecstaticly, passionate about his new job.
I hope all of you in my blogging world are doing great – thank you so much for posting comments that said you were thinking of me and emailing me directly.
I’m back!
– Congrats on the weight loss! Better than me because I’m going the other way and it’s not even the Holidays yet!!
– Looks like this one was posted twice.
– Welcome back!!!!!!!
Hi Ellen,
I’m glad you’re back. I was just talking to a couple of people today that have thyroid trouble and weightloss problems as a result, so know that you are not alone. I hope the medicine will help. Glad you’re enjoying your job.
Blessings,
Carol
Hi Ellen, Glad to see you post and glad things at school are better. Congats on losing over 14 pounds in just three months. I’ll continue to keep you in my prayers. Please keep me in yours also. Best, Helen
Ellen!! I’m so happy to see you! Congrats on the weight loss, and I’m glad you finally found out what is contributing to the problem. I’m so happy for you that things are looking up, you deserve it, girl! And tell Dave congrats on his new job; what is he doing?
love ya, holly
You will be amazed at the difference a little pill will make. I’ve been on thyroid meds for about 2 years now and can tell when I “forget” to take them for a week or so. I went through where I felt like I couldnt’ get enough to eat. I seriously would eat all day long and STILL be hungry. And sugar?? I could not get enough sugar… It’s not a night and day difference but all the sudden you’ll say “Hey!! I’m feeling pretty good!!! And I’m not eating constantly!”… Hope it works well for you!!
So good you are back. Happy to see you. Congrats on your weight loss too.
Nan
